Also in 1883, the Wente family started their vineyard in California. 129 years and five generations later, it’s still going strong, having been named “Winery of the Year” by Wine Enthusiast magazine in last year! Today the Wente family carefully crafts Hayes Ranch in tribute to the generations of ranchers who have worked the land for generations as well. Their Cabernet has rich cherry and blackberry fruit, underlined with just a touch of smoky oak. In a market saturated with sub-$10 California varietal wines, it takes 120 years of experience to make one this good!
