STEW LEONARD'S WINES "TURNS UP THE HEAT" WITH ST. FRANCIS WINERY AND GRILLING EXPERT ELIZABETH KARMEL
Join Stew Leonard's Wines of Farmingdale on August 5 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. for St. Francis Wine and Food Tasting
|
WHAT: As the summer barbecue season kicks into high gear, St. Francis Winery & Vineyards and America's leading female grilling expert, Elizabeth Karmel will "Turn Up the Heat" with mouth-watering summer wines and tasty food samples on Thursday, August 5, at Stew Leonard's Wines of Farmingdale.
Along with Karmel, Stew Leonard's wine specialists will sample a selection of grill-worthy wines from St. Francis, including their Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet, "Old Vines" Zinfandel, RED - which is a Sonoma County blend of Merlot, Cabernet, Zinfandel, Syrah and Granache - and Pagani Vineyard Zinfandel. To accompany these exceptional wines, customers will also be invited to sample two of Ms. Karmel's favorite entertaining recipes: Sugar and Spice Candied Walnuts and Char-Roasted Beef Tenderloin with Three-Herb Chimichurri Sauce. Ms. Karmel will also be on hand to personalize copies from two of her celebrated cookbooks: Soaked, Slathered, and Seasoned: A Complete Guide to Flavoring Food for the Grill and Taming the Flame: Secrets for Hot-and-Quick Grilling and Low-and-Slow BBQ. The books will be available at the special purchase price of $17.95 each.
St. Francis Winery & Vineyards and Ms. Karmel have teamed up this summer to empower women to get behind the grill with the St. Francis Girls' Guide to Grilling – a FREE digital cookbook created for www.StFSavorTheFlavor.com – which is packed with tips on how to get started, simple and delicious recipes complete with wine pairings. The Guide will inspire "girls" and even guys to show off their grilling prowess for the Turn Up the Heat consumer contest (www.StFSavorTheFlavor.com), which runs through August 31. Consumers are challenged to experiment with unique flavor combinations before submitting a short, original video revealing how they WOW the crowds with their biggest, boldest grilled recipe and St. Francis wine pairing for a chance to win a VIP trip for two to beautiful Sonoma County. Ms. Karmel will be joined by a number of esteemed wine and grilling enthusiasts – including Stew Leonard, Jr. of Stew Leonard’s Wines – to crown the first St. Francis Grill Master in October 2010.
