STEW LEONARD'S WINES CELEBRATES NEW JERSEY
NATIVE WINEMAKER DOROTHY SCHULER

Celebrated Women of the Vine Winemaker
Returns Home to Lead Tastings in Clifton & Paramus
WHAT:
Stew Leonard's Wines of Clifton and Paramus, N.J. are pleased to welcome New Jersey native and celebrated Women of the Vine winemaker Dorothy Schuler to the stores on Saturday, June 19. Along with Deborah Brenner, proprietor of Women of the Vine Cellars, the first-of-its-kind wine company to unite award winning women winemakers under one label, Ms. Schuler will lead guests and customers through a tasting of her Signature Series Paso Robles Tempranillo and Napa Rojo.
WHO:
Dorothy Schuler was born and raised in Atlantic City, N.J. While she has resided in California for many years, she remains a die-hard New Jersey Devils fan.

Ms. Schuler's winery concentrates on rare varietals and Rioja-style blends. She makes wines using only Spanish and Portuguese grapes, and she is one of the few winemakers in the country with this specialty. "It's amazing that these grapes have never been popular in California," she says. "The climate is just about as close as you can get to Spain, and these grapes love the heat and sun." Always willing to take a risk on something new, she is dedicated to promoting American-made wines using all the grapes that flourish on the Iberian Peninsula and -- not surprisingly -- in the warmer growing regions of the West Coast. In 2010, she was awarded Double Gold for her 2005 Viva Yo and the 2006 Graciano under her own label, Bodegas Paso Robles.

Deborah Brenner, proprietor of Women of the Vine Cellars and author of Women of the Vine: Inside the World of Women Who Make, Taste, and Enjoy Wine, will be on hand to introduce winemaker Dorothy Schuler to customers and guests and to autograph books and bottles. Stew Leonard's Wines is also offering the book, Women of the Vine for the price of $16.95. Women of the Vine was selected by Wine Spectator as of the best books for your wine lover's library of 2007.
