TASTE 75 AMAZING WINES FOR $25 AT STEW LEONARD'S WINES OF NEWINGTON'S "SPECTACULAR SELECTIONS OF THE SEASON" WINE TASTING EVENT

WHAT:
Find the perfect wines to pair with your holiday meals, to give as gifts and to ring in the New Year at Stew Leonard's Wines of Newington "Spectacular Selection of the Season" wine tasting event, taking place the Thursday before Thanksgiving. For just $25 (all of which goes to charity), guests can taste 75 wines ranging from food-friendly Pinot Noirs and Rieslings to the best in bubbly and dessert wines. Here is just a sampling of some of our favorites that are being poured:
Willamette Valley Vineyards Pinot Gris 2007: A great selection for pairing with the diverse flavors of the Thanksgiving meal. The 2006 vintage of this well-balanced, crisp and fruity white was awarded 93 points by Wine & Spirits.
Schug Pinot Noir 2006: This classic Carneros region Pinot Noir offers upfront flavors and aromas of berries and spice, a smooth texture and elegant finish, making it a great complement to Thanksgiving, Christmas and Chanukah foods.
Oberon Cabernet Sauvignon 2005: A hallmark Napa Valley Cabernet, the lush berry flavors and natural acidity, complemented by oak barrel aging and a distinctive tannic structure, pair well with steaks and holiday roasts.
Warre's Warrio Special Reserve Port Non-vintage: One of the finest selections available for everyday drinking, this classic Special Reserve Port is made in the traditional style and offers a clean palate with lots of fruit on the nose and palate. Decanter magazine awarded it five stars (out of five).
Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut Non-vintage: Wine Enthusiast gave this impeccably-balanced and precise Champagne 93 points. It gives off sharp citrus and spicy wood aromas and citrus and floral flavors elegantly unfold.
Holiday-themed appetizers will be served.

WHO: Net proceeds from the tasting will benefit the Stew Leonard III Children's Charities, which promotes safe and responsible growth and development in kids through nutritional awareness and water safety. Specifically, the foundation helps underprivileged children learn how to swim, and funds the donation of children's books on water safety and nutrition to schools and hospitals.
