WHAT:
Stew Leonard's Wines of Newington presents "A Global Wine Tour," a charitable wine tasting event where over 100 selections from the best wine-making regions around the globe will be featured. Stew Leonard’s wine specialists will handpick the wines to be sampled, ranging from "hidden gems" under $10/bottle to hard-to-find, special-occasion wines.

The tour begins in the old-world wine-making regions of Europe, showcasing red and white varietals from the world-renown Bordeaux region of France, full-bodied Tempranillo from the revived wine-making areas of Spain, and the ever-popular Chianti from Italy's famed Tuscany region. Next on tour are rich and robust reds from the newly-acclaimed wine-making regions of the Southern Hemisphere, including Malbec from Argentina and Australian Shiraz. The tour concludes in the Unites States, where outstanding Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon selections from the West Coast will be featured.

Artisan breads, cheeses and charcuterie will be served.

WHO:
Net proceeds from the tasting will benefit the Stew Leonard III Children's Charities, which promotes safe and responsible growth and development in kids through nutritional awareness and water safety. Specifically, the foundation helps underprivileged children learn how to swim, and funds the donation of children's books on water safety and nutrition to schools and hospitals.
